Welcome to the Knysna Chamber of Business

The Knysna Chamber of Business (KCB) is the voice of business in Knysna, working to facilitate economic growth and development. KCB represents the interests of business, large and small, and offers a range of value-added services.

  • Joining forces for business

We represent the interests of business and are a stakeholder in facilitating economic growth and development in Knysna.

  • Growing the economy

The Chamber initiates and supports key economic and research projects.

Recently KCB has initiated the recycling waste management programme with the municipality and an appointed consultant from EDEN to improve the relationship between business and council. This has been achieved through an education program teaching why there needs to be awareness of sorting refuse at source and how that can reduce end of line refuse costs to both the municipality and business and keep increased refuse collection and shipping costs to a minimum.

  • Building partnerships and networks

KCB’s network of stakeholder relationships includes local and provincial government, trade and investment promotion organisations, and business development agencies KEDA, SEDA, SACCI, RED DOOR and LED. The Chamber maintains strategic alliances with other business and community stakeholders.

The Chamber is founded onthe urgent need for business unity to direct successful growth of business in Knysna and surrounds by a passionate the committed group of entrepreneurs.

  • A Platform for action

KCB’S task teams provide a forum for interaction of business leaders and with role-players in local government, parastatals, education, NGOs and others. We address issues critical to economic growth and development in Knysna. The task teams provide a platform to pursue mutual goals such as the upgrading of tourism freight routes, quality and reliability of electricity and water supplies, renewable energy, skills development, support for SMEs, workplace health and wellness and black economic empowerment (BEE).

The forums and task teams welcome the participation of all interested parties.
